Ray-Ban Stories
Meta

I enabled Ray-Ban Stories to launch on time and increased the value of the partner app by increasing the functionality and safety.

Context

Ray-Ban Stories are smart glasses that can take photos and videos, listen to music and calls, and share content directly to social media. The partner app lets people manage their content and add visual effects to their photos and videos.

Problem

The glasses were at risk of not launching on time. The functionality was also minimal and didn’t meet regulations in key markets, putting the product at high risk for an unsuccessful release.

Solution

Reprioritise the product roadmap and design resourcing to ensure the right people were working on the right things and that the quality bar for launch could be reached.

Impact

  • An on time launch, despite a forecasted 6 month delay

  • 5x increase in the amount of app features

  • 22% increase in anticipated sales

My work included:

  • Working with design leadership to prioritise features for launch

  • Naming app features and the visual effects tools

  • Editing app content, including onboarding, creation and sharing flows, and glasses setup

  • Identifying risks and working with the legal team to create messaging that ensured user safety

  • Working with the internationalisation team to translate the app
